The Continuous Craft Show

What joy in showing off a recently finished craft! What relief in finding someone who can help you work out a crafting problem! Joy, relief, pride, grief - let's exhibit them all here as we share crafts in all forms. Food, paper, wool, glass, metal - whatever the medium, we can show our finished projects and our works in progress, as well as share advice and feedback.

Baby Kimono Edging

I wanted to make a coming home outfit for the Deuce, but I didn't have a lot of time for sewing or crocheting or whatnot. I bought this white cotton kimono and legging outfit, used thread crochet to create an edging and then sewed it to the kimono top.

I used this pattern, eliminating the row 2 shells. I like how it came out, the green thread the color of new life and the edging like tiny strands of DNA looped together.

Stay tuned to see how it looks on our wee bairn in two weeks!

finally posting this sweater...

Thought I'd post a picture of a sweater that I finished way back when I was out in Montana with Christina. Its made of black merino wool from knitpicks.com, and I made up the pattern myself, sort of as I went along. It has a hood, which you can't really see in this picture, but which I really love. Its probably my favorite thing that I've made so far, and definitely the most comfortable - I've already been wearing it all the time this fall (its been chilly!) This isn't the best picture of it, but its the only one I've got.
